Why its important
Young carers are often an afterthought in local systems. They are not routinely on the agenda for education, health or local authority partners, which means their needs are often missed or picked up too late.
Despite legislative statutory duties, there is limited statutory responsibility and guidance around how Young Carers’ identification and system-responses to them should be run. This project is about changing that.
